Oppo announces Neo 7, with 1GB RAM and Snapdragon 410

Oppo has unveiled a new smartphone called the Neo 7. The device comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM. The back of the phone has an 8MP primary camera with a 5MP front facing camera that uses the display as a flash for selfies. The phone comes with 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. It comes with a 2420mAh battery and runs Android Lollipop v5.1 with Color OS 2.1 layered over it.  It also comes with dual SIM support, LTE connectivity and a mirror finish at the back. The price of the device was not revealed.

The Oppo Neo 7 is a successor to the Neo 5 and the Neo 5s, the latter of which wasn’t released in India. The Neo 5 was launched at Rs. 9,990 in June this year. It came with a 4.5-inch display and was powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek 6582 Soc with 1GB of RAM. Oppo also launched the Mirror 5 in August. The Mirror 5 came with a unique back and was priced at RS. 15,990 when it was launched. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor and has 5-inch display with a 960 x 540 pixel resolution. 

Oppo also announced the Oppo R7s on October 18. The R7s comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and supports inputs from gloved or wet hands. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 32GB of on-board storage. It also has a hybrid microSD card slot that can either support a microSD card with up to 128GB of storage or a secondary SIM. The phone also comes with a 13MP camera at the back with phase detection autofocus. There is an 8MP front-facing camera. The R7s also comes with a 3070mAh battery. It was also reported that Oppo was in talks with Foxconn to manufacture smartphones in India.
