OnePlus X teased on Twitter, seen listed on Amazon briefly
HIGHLIGHTS

The listing on Amazon India showed that the device may come with a 5-inch FHD display with ClearForce technology and a MediaTek Helio X10 processor

OnePlus India’s Twitter account has posted a tweet stating, “See you on October 29, India. #PowerfullyBeautiful” along with an image showing a brightly lit ‘X’. It is possible that the tweet is alluding to the launch of the OnePlus X on October 29.

It was expected that OnePlus X would be announced during OnePlus’ event in Bengaluru held on October 12. However, OnePlus instead announced that they would be partnering with Foxconn to start manufacturing their smartphone in India as part of the 'Make in India' initiative. The company also announced that it managed to sell more than 15,000 units of the OnePlus 2 in the first 12 minutes of the hour long open sale held on Amazon.

The OnePlus Mini (also known as OnePlus X)was briefly listed on the Amazon India website and a screenshot of the listing was posted by True Tech. The listing did not have an image of the drive but it did include some specifications of the rumoured device. As per the listing, the phone will have a 5-inch Full HD display with Synaptic’s ClearForce technology and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also stated that it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC with 2GB RAM. Other specifications include a 2,450mAh battery along with 32GB of internal memory. It has also tipped to come with Android Marshmallow v6.0 with OxygenOS 3.0 layered over it as well as a metal frame with Side-Touch functionality.

Synaptics ClearForce technology will make the display of the OnePlus Mini (also known as OnePlus X) pressure sensitive, like the displays found on the Huawei Mate S, Apple iPhone 6s, and the 6s Plus. The Side-Touch functionality of the device could be similar to Edge Touch that is found on the Xiaomi Mi 4c. This feature lets users of the Mi 4c tap the edge of the display to interact with the device.

Renders of the OnePlus X had leaked last month and showed that the device may come with a metal frame. It also showed that the device may have a dual camera setup at the back. The OnePlus X is tipped to be priced at $249 (approx. Rs. 16,200).
