OnePlus X briefly listed by retailer, may be priced at $249

The OnePlus X, also known OnePlus Mini, was briefly listed on Oppo Mart, a third party online retailer. As per the listing, the phone would carry a price tag of $249, which is about Rs. 16,100 by direct conversion. The listing, which has now been removed, also showed several specifications of the device.

As per the listing, the handset could come with a 5-inch Full HD IPS display. It may also come with 3GB RAM. The OnePlus X is tipped to comes with a 13MP camera at the back and an 8MP camera in the front. Interestingly, the listing showed that the device would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and would have 16GB of internal memory. The OnePlus Mini had briefly appeared on Amazon India and showed that the device would comes with  MediaTek Helio X10 processor and 32GB of internal storage. The listing on Amazon also showed that the 5-inch display on the device would come with Synaptic’s ClearForce technology and would be protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. ClearForce technology will make the display of the phone pressure sensitive, like the displays found on the Huawei Mate S or the new iPhones. The listing also said that the device would come with Android Marshmallow v6.0 with OxygenOS 3.0 layered over it. It is also tipped to come with Side-Touch functionality. Side-Touch could be similar to Edge Touch that is found on the Xiaomi Mi 4c. On the Mi 4c, the feature allows users to interact with the phone in a variety of ways just by tapping the side of the display.  

The OnePlus X was expected to be announced on October 12 at its event in Bengaluru. However, the company instead announced that it will be partnering with Foxconn to make smartphones in India. The smartphones would be manufactured at Foxconn’s manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. During the event, it also announced that the company sold 15,000 units of the OnePlus 2 in the first 12 minutes of the hour long open sale that it held on October 12.

OnePlus has teased the launch of the phone on the OnePlus India Twitter account. It posted an image showing a brightly lit ‘X’ with text saying ‘See you October 29’.
