OnePlus Nord launched in India starting Rs 24,999: Specs, features, availability
HIGHLIGHTS

OnePlus has finally launched its new affordable smartphone Nord.

OnePlus Nord price starts at Rs 24,999 for the 6GB RAM variant, which will only be available in the Indian market.

The Nord will go on sale in India starting August 4.

After months of teasing, OnePlus has finally launched its much talked-about affordable smartphone Nord. The Nord is the company's fresh entrant in the sub 30K price range that comes with mid-range Qualcomm 765G instead of the best available hardware, as seen on the OnePlus 8-series.

While there was massive hype around the Nord, there was a very little left to be unveiled about the phone as the company had itself revealed all the crucial specsdesign and features. The company assured that it would be priced under $500 for the global markets, but we now have the official details about the OnePlus Nord's price, availability and variants.

OnePlus Nord Price and Variants

The OnePlus Nord is launched in three RAM/storage variants – 6GB/64, 8GB/128GB and 12/256GBGB – which are priced at 24,999, 27,999 and 29,999 respectively. It will be available in two colours – Blue Marble, Grey Onyx.

As always, the new OnePlus phone will be available on Amazon.in and the sale for the 8GB and 12GB RAM variant kicks off on August 4, while the cheaper 6GB RAM variant will go on sale sometime in September.

OnePlus Nord specifications and features

We've been using the OnePlus Nord from a few days, and it's fair enough to say that it borrows a lot from the OnePlus 8. You can read about our initial take on the phone when we started using it.

While the form factor of the Nord differs a bit from the OnePlus 8-series, it still has the 6.44-inch display with FHD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate. It has Gorilla Glass 5 protection to keep it guarded against scratches and cracks as well.

OnePlus had already teased that the Nord will have six cameras combining front and back setup. There are four cameras on the back with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor. The dual setup on the front includes a 32MP main and an 8MP wide-angle camera.

Spec-wise, as already revealed the smartphone packs Snapdragon 765G paired with 6/8/12GB LPDDR4X RAM having 64GB, 128GB and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. Note that the 64GB variant is only available for the Indian market. The Nord runs Oxygen OS10.5 based on Android 10 with minor tweaks in the calling and messaging app.

The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor that unlocks the phone in a jiffy, although the company has not confirmed if it's the one used in the 8-series. Unsurprisingly, it has a USB 2.0, Type-C port for audio and charging duties, but note that there's no wireless charging present on the Nord. However, it does have OnePlus' proprietary WarpCharge 30T fast charging tech that claims to charge the 4115mAh battery from 0-70% in 30 minutes.

For connectivity, it has 2×2 MIMO, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and dual SIM 5G support.
