OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 receive third Android Q Beta update

OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 receive third Android Q Beta update
HIGHLIGHTS

The third Android Q Beta is now available for OnePlus flagship smartphones

The beta has notable bugs, including a broken recovery mode

Last year was the first time when Google allowed third-party OEMs to receive the public beta builds of the upcoming Android operating system. Just like last year, Google announced a bunch of OEMs whose devices would be eligible to receive the Android Q public beta. OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 were two such devices.

After the Pixel devices and even the OnePlus 6T got the third Android Q Developer Beta, the OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 too have received them. The Developer beta is different from the Public beta program that Google runs, and as such, there is no OTA update for Developer Beta builds. Also, the Developer Beta runs one build ahead of the Public Beta, and as such, tends to have more bugs.

OnePlus has said that the known issues with the third Developer beta of Android Q include navigation gestures not working, issues with SMS, some stability issues and possibly the most concerning, the recovery mode being broken. Suffice to say, if you do decide to update your OnePlus 7 Pro or the OnePlus 7 to the third developer beta of Android Q, you’re going to be facing some issues.

While the Pixel devices receive their Beta builds from Google directly, OEMs provide their own download links for their respective devices. OnePlus owners can get their ROM files directly from here.
