Nubia Red Magic gaming phone to launch in India on December 20
HIGHLIGHTS

Nubia announced the development on its official India Twitter handle. The smartphone has a dated Snapdragon 835 processor and up to 8GB of RAM.

Nubia will launch its Red Magic gaming smartphone in India on December 20, the company announced on its official Twitter handle. “Enough is enough, it's time for a new species to take over. It's time for a complete annihilation,” the company said on the micro-blogging platform. The ZTE sub-brand announced the smartphone in April this year and it is expected to be priced below Rs 30,000. The dedicated gaming phone will compete against the Xiaomi Poco F1, OnePlus 6, among other phones.

Nubia Red Magic specifications

The Nubia Red Magic smartphone is powered by the dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and is coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Since it lags behind the competition when it comes to the hardware under the hood, it tries to make up for it with its looks and an RBG lighting panel on the rear. The device features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ LTPS TFT display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, an 85 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels.

The dual-SIM device runs a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3,800mAh battery that supports the company’s fast charging technology and NeoPower 3.0 power saving feature. As per Nubia, one of the highlights of the Red Magic is the air-cooling technology. The phone has nine air radiation slots, alongside three-layer graphite lamination technology that are claimed to assist in heat dissipation. There is a dedicated button to activate the gaming mode, which disables incoming calls, messages, and other notifications. Nubia claims that the gaming performance on the phone gets a boost with a 'turbo acceleration mode'.

When it comes to optics, the Nubia Red Magic features a single 24MP camera setup on the back that has a 0.9-micron pixel size and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter with 1.12-micron pixel size and f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is capable of capturing 4K videos at 30fps, while the front camera supports 1080p Full HD video recording at 30fps. The phone carries a 3.5mm headphone jack and gets a rear-mounted hexagonal fingerprint sensor.
