Nokia may be testing its next Android device-Nokia 1100.

A new Android Lollipop powered Nokia 1100 smartphone has been spotted with benchmark scores at the Geekbench site.

According to the site, the Nokia 1100 is a budget device and runs on the latest Android version 5.0. It features a quad-core MediaTek 1.3 GHz processor. The smartphone will have 720p display resolution and 512MB of RAM. Geekbench did not reveal any more specifications of the device.

Nokia had earlier launched the Android based N1 tablet which sold out in seconds. So the company's Nokia 1100 with an Android OS seems very exciting.

The Nokia 1100 was launched by the company in 2003 and was immensely popular. Post Microsoft's acquisition, the Finnish company has not been producing any mobile phone devices. Nokia had earlier confirmed that it was bringing more Nokia-branded Android smartphones to the market.

"It is [Nokia N1] the first of many coming-more SKUs, more sizes and more features. We will go beyond tablets for sure," president of Nokia's technologies business Ramzi Haidamus had stated. Nokia has been prohibited from marketing smartphones until 2016 as per the deal with Microsoft but Haidamus said, "We will be looking at going into the cell phone licensing business post-Microsoft rights."

What do you think about the rumoured Nokia phone? Do you think the benchmark is fake or Nokia is actually gearing up to launch a new Android smartphone?
