Supposed images of the retail boxes of Google’s new phones have confirmed that the new devices will be called the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P

Google is holding an event on September 29 and it has been tipped to launch two new Nexus devices made by LG and Huawei. It was rumoured that the new Nexus devices would be called the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Leaked images of what seems to be the retail boxes for the new phones have confirmed those names.

Images posted on Android Police show stylised graphic cutouts that represent the “X” and “P” designations with a satellite image peeking through. In the bottom-right corner is the Nexus logo while on the top-left corner is the name of the device and its storage capacity, which in this case is 32GB. Below that is a silhouette of the device within the box and these match the leaked images of both the nexus phones.

Google had confirmed that it is going to host an event on September 29 and rumors say that it will launch the two Nexus devices, a new Chromecast, and the public availability of Android Marshmallow v6. The new Chromecast is expected to to come with better Wi-Fi support and is tipped to feature FastPlay. According to rumours, FastPlay will allow the Chromecast to connect with devices quickly and in a simpler manner.

LG’s version of the Nexus (Nexus 5X) is expected to come with a 5.2-inch Full HD display and a 2700mAh battery. It is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC and will have 3GB of RAM. It is also rumored to comes with a 12.3MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It is also expected to be available in two variants, one with 16GB and the other with 32GB of storage. 

Huawei’s Nexus phone (Nexus 6P) is expected to come with a bigger 5.7-inch QHD display. It is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB of RAM. It has been expected to come with a 13MP camera at the back with an 8MP front facing camera. Bothe the Nexus devices are expected to come with a USB Type-C port and fingerprint sensors. The phones are also expected to come with Android Marshmallow installed.
