Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013 now officially available in India
  • The Nexus 7 2013 tablet and the Nexus 5 smartphone are finally available in India via the Google Play store.

The long awaited Nexus 5 Android smartphone and the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet are finally officially available in India via the Google Play store. The 16GB Nexus 5 is priced at Rs. 28,999 and the 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 32,999. According to the website, the device is in stock and will leave the warehouse in 1 to 2 business days after an order is placed.

Coming to the Nexus 7 2013, the Wi-Fi only 16GB variant is priced at Rs. 20,999 and the 32GB Wi-Fi only is priced at Rs. 23,999. The 32GB LTE variant is priced at Rs. 27,999. The device is in stock and will also leave the warehouse in 1 to 2 business days after the order.

Both the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 have been highly anticipated in India. Coming to the specifications of the Nexus 5, the smartphone has a 4.95-inch True HD IPS Plus display with a 1920x1080 pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 445ppi. Under the hood, a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM powers the device. The rear of the smartphone has an 8MP camera with OIS and the front has a 1.3MP camera. A 2300mAh battery powers the device. The Nexus 5 runs on Google's latest mobile OS, Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Nexus 7 2013 on the other hand has a 7-inch display with a1920x1200 pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 323ppi. It has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 1.2MP front facing camera for Hangouts. Under the hood, the Nexus 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor, coupled with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. A 3950mAh battery powers the tablet.

Interested consumers can pick up the Nexus 7 2013 and the Nexus 5 from the Google India Play store.

The first generation Nexus 7 is no longer available on the Indian Google Play store. The first generation tablet is available on Flipkart as an in stock item for Rs. 8,999
