HIGHLIGHTS

The Motorola device will be sold under the Droid moniker but it's not certain whether it will come to India.

Motorola doesn’t seem to be content with its current portfolio of impressive smartphones. The company is reportedly working on a smartphone that is essentially an upgraded version of the Nexus 6. The device (name unknown) is going to be sold under the Droid brand.

According to reports, the device will have a 5.9 inch Quad-HD display, just like the Nexus 6 and will take advantage of Android 5.0 Lollipop’s 64-bit support with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. That’s not all, it will also have 4 GB of RAM to further enhance multitasking.

Should be power intensive right? Well, Motorola is also going with a 4,000 mAh battery on the device. The phablet will apparently be released in mid-2015 by Verizon, with confirmation for other carriers yet to come. Also, it is not known whether the company will launch it in India either.

That said, the company recently made its Droid Turbo available globally, with Brazil being the first country outside the US to get it. It is expected to be coming to India too, some time next year. The Nexus 6 on the other hand is already scheduled to start selling in India from next week. Motorola has shown a lot of interest in India over the last year, bringing many of its best selling devices into the country, so we're expecting more news about this one soon.
