Today, Motorola launched the Edge 50, the third smartphone in its Edge 50 series. The smartphone rolled out for Rs 27,999 and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE (Accelerated Edition). In this article, I am going to compare this smartphone with the OnePlus Nord 4, which also launched a few days ago. The OnePlus Nord 4 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 29,999. Let’s begin!
Motorola Edge 50 vs OnePlus Nord 4
Let’s start with the display first. The Motorola Edge 50 has a 6.6-inch 1.5K P-OLED display that supports HDR10+, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and has 1600 nits of peak brightness. This display is also protected by the Gorilla Glass 5. Whereas, the OnePlus Nord 4 comes with a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display that supports 10-bit colour, HDR10+, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and has 2150 nits of peak brightness.
Next, the Motorola Edge 50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE processor that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Now, the OnePlus Nord 4 runs on the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, which is coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The Motorola Edge 50 runs on Hello UI based on the latest Android 14 OS. Good thing that Hello UI is pretty much like the stock Android OS. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord 4 features OxygenOS 14.1, which is also based on Android 14.
For photography, the Motorola Edge 50 uses a triple-camera setup, holding a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. Moreover, the OnePlus Nord 4 has only two camera sensors on the back, which include a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.
For selfies, you get a 32-megapixel selfie shooter in the Edge 50 and a 16-megapixel camera in the OnePlus Nord 4.
Lastly, let’s talk about their battery. The Motorola Edge 50 is packed with a 5000mAh battery with 68-watt fast charging support. Whereas, the OnePlus Nord 4 comes with a 5500mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging support.

Price and availability
The Motorola Edge 50 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 27,999. But it will go on sale on August 8 on Flipkart with a Rs 2000 launch discount. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord 4 launched at a starting price of Rs 29,999. It will also go on sale with a Rs 2000 discount on OnePlus’ official website from August 2.
