Microsoft working on Windows Phone 8 random reboot bug
All you unhappy early adopters of Windows Phone 8 who keep having their phones reboot on them without notice, you can put your pitchforks down as Microsoft is prepping up an OTA update that should fix the glitch.
It would seem that Microsoft and its partners have worked out the cause of the frustrating Windows Phone 8 reboot, but are remaining mum on what it actually is. We can only hope it’s not something major, or worse, something very, very elementary, like Android 4.2 update forgetting that there is a month called December in the year.
Now that there is also word of an Apollo update for WP8 devices, we wonder whether Microsoft will release the reboot patch as part of this update, or earlier. The Apollo update is supposed to add features to the Windows Phone 8 OS that had to be left out as Microsoft ran out of time on the development.
These features are said to include compatibility with VPN networks, the ability to get OTA updates and most important of all, a notification center. While there is no word on the release date for the Apollo update, we sure hope that Microsoft stops our phones from going into reboot spasms really soon.
