LG seems to be on a phone-making spree and have recently churned out a new one — the LG Expo GW820. The Expo GW820 has a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a QWERTY keypad –which seems to be quite the trend these days. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.5. The phone also allows the use of a detachable Texas Instruments DLP projector which can be bought separately. It has quite an innovative and eye-pleasing design. The LG Expo GW820 boasts a camera with LED flash and scores in the connectivity department with 3G,Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm processor and sports a resolution of 800×480 resolution for it’s 3.2-inch touchscreen.
Taking a detour from the usual Trackball or D-pad, LG has installed a biometric sensor on this device. This sensor works for scrolling (both horizontal and vertical) and doubles up for security duty. It will be interesting to see how a biometric sensor for security performs on a mobile phone, and we wonder if it will become the trend and a more friendly way to unlock a device; it’s a brave move from a big brand cellphone manufacturer for sure. The LG Expo GW820 is powered by a 1,500 mAh Battery. The cell phone’s LED flash-supported camera has a 5MP sensor, autofocus and 3X digital zoom. It also comes loaded with Microsoft Applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer Mobile. The projector can project images, videos and web pages to a screen up to 40 inches in size. It is currently available in US and Canada with a two-year service agreement with AT&T and Telus respectively . The mobile projector will be soon available in the market for $179.99.
