June 2025 Pixel Drop is here: Battery health indicator, Pixel VIPs and more

Google has started rolling out its latest Pixel Feature Drop. June Pixel Drop is packed with new features and updates designed to make Pixel phones more helpful, personalised and accessible. This update comes alongside the Android 16 rollout, and is all about convenience — whether it’s staying better connected to your favourite people, taking your creativity up a notch or making your device easier to use.

Let’s take a look at what June Pixel Drop has to offer.

Pixel VIPs

Exclusive to Pixel phones, the new Pixel VIPs widget from the Contacts app helps you stay connected with the people who matter most. To make the most of it, you can add detailed information like birthdays, email addresses, home locations and personal preferences. The widget lets you view your recent calls and messages with your VIPs (including those from WhatsApp), see their shared location and more. VIPs can also bypass Do Not Disturb, ensuring you’re always reachable for them.

Make custom stickers in Gboard

With Pixel Studio on Gboard, you can turn just about anything you imagine into a custom sticker using generative AI. Simply type a prompt, pick an emotion, and send — all without leaving the app. You can even create stickers from photos in your camera roll.

Battery health indicator

Your Pixel now gives you insights into your battery’s health by showing the estimated remaining capacity based on your charging and usage habits.

Better photography and accessibility

Pixel’s Camera app now includes a new help section showing how different camera modes work with visual tips. The Magnifier app also gets an upgrade — just type what you’re looking for, like a dish on a menu, and the app highlights it in real time.

AI-powered editing in Google Photos

Google Photos will soon make editing easier and smarter. You’ll get AI suggestions to improve your photos with one tap, quick access to tools based on what you’re editing, and easier access to your favourite tools.

Expanded availability for favourite Pixel features

Satellite SOS is now available in Australia, giving users the ability to contact emergency services even without internet or cellular signal. The Recorder app can now summarise recordings in French and German. Also, Clear voice is rolling out to Pixel 8 phones.
