Apple typically releases new updates for iOS once every one or two months. This time around, it’s the iOS 26.4 update, which will be rolling out to the public soon. There are a bunch of new features that are getting added with the update, which are set to include changes to the Apple Music app, the Apple Keyboard, and along with a few other system apps as well. iOS 26.4: When will it come out?

First and foremost, talking about the release timeline for the latest iOS 26.4 update, Apple has confirmed that the update will go live this month. The update has been on the release candidate channels of testers and developers since 18 March. Talking about the public release, the rollout for that will start in the next few days, from 23 March.

Since the rollout of the release candidate, many have been able to identify the new features that the latest update offers. Let’s take a quick look at them.

Starting from the keyboard, with the latest update, Apple is bringing new features to the Apple Keyboard app. It will bring around 8 new emojis, which include an orca, a trombone, a landslide, a ballet dancer, and a distorted face, to the emoji section of the keyboard.

Along with that, Apple Music is also getting new features. First up, there’s a new AI feature called “Playlist Playground”, which can generate a playlist based on the description shared by the user. There are also a bunch of new UI design changes for albums and playlists. 

Also, just like the Spotify app, Apple Music is adding a feature that will showcase details about nearby concerts. The Apple Music app will get a dedicated “Concerts” section that will provide users with information about nearby shows playing around their location.

Moving on, other apps are also getting new changes. The Reminders app, for example, is adding a new ‘Urgent’ smart list for urgent reminders. The Health app will add new sleep and vital data. While the Freeform app will include advanced image creation and editing tools.
