HIGHLIGHTS

HTC is expected to announce the One M10 in London, and it is possible that the company may change the ‘M10’ part of the name, but the ‘One’ shall remain

The HTC One M10 may be announced on April 11, according to 4G News, a Portuguese technology website. The report also said that HTC plans to announce the device in London and that the ‘M10’ part of the name be may changed, but the ‘One’ shall remain. These reports are in line with an earlier rumour stating that the phone was going to be delayed. Apparently, the reason was that HTC officials had sent back prototypes of the phone and were not satisfied with the design.

If the report is true, then HTC plans to launch its new flagship smartphone way after Samsung and LG plan to launch their own flagship devices. LG has confirmed that it will be launching the G5 on February 21 during the World Mobile Congress event in Barcelona. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge during the same event.

Last month, specifications of the HTC One M10 were supposedly leaked. The phone may run Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 with HTC’s Sense UI layered over it. It may come with a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED display, and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Reports also suggest that HTC will ditch the front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers.
