Google Pixel 3 XL hands-on video leak shows massive 6.7-inch display, single rear camera
HIGHLIGHTS

A Russian tech blogger allegedly leaked the Google Pixel 3 XL in a hands-on video showing a large display, single primary camera, and a 3,430 mAh battery.

Just three days after leaking an unboxing video of the yet-to-launch Google Pixel 3 XL smartphone, a Russian tech blogger has now leaked a hands-on video of the alleged smartphone, showing the phone from all angles. The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the company's next-gen flagship devices expected to launch on October 4. The video is now available on YouTube and it shows a “Clearly White” variant of the alleged Pixel 3 XL.

In the video, the Google flagship for 2018 is seen sporting a notch which seems smaller (in length) but thicker than the iPhone X. Just like its predecessor, there is a chin and side bezels. On the right edge, there is a volume rocker as well as a light green-coloured powered button. The back panel design is pretty much the same as the Pixel 2 XL. On the back, there is a single camera and an LED flash. There is a centrally-aligned fingerprint sensor which is placed just under the top glass part of the smartphone’s two-tone design.

Now coming to the specifications, the video shows that the display of the Pixel 3 XL has a 1440×2960 resolution with a pixel density of 494ppi. Going by the numbers, the display seems to be a massive 6.7-inch screen. The person in the video says that the smartphone that he is showing in the video could be a pre-launch model and Google may bring design changes in the final handset. As it has been reported in several leaks, the Google Pixel 3 XL is seen being powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, supplemented by a 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

The phone is also seen sporting a 3,430 mAh battery in the newly leaked video. This could be a tricky situation for the company because this battery will have to power an alleged 6.7-inch pOLED display. The battery could fall short in powering the device for a full day, but Google may put a software feature that could extend the backup. Android Pie does bring an adaptive battery feature and the new Pixel devices will come with the same out-of-the-box. The Google Pixel 2 XL had a 6-inch display and was powered by a 3,450mAh battery. In our review, the Pixel 2 XL clocked seven hour under a heavy usage.

When it comes to the camera, a 12MP sensor on the back seems to do all the work on the Pixel 3 XL. While almost all the smartphone-makers have switched to a dual-camera setup at the back, Google could stick to one rear camera on this year's flagship as well. The Google Pixel 3 XL may ship with an 8MP selfie shooter. The phone runs on Android Pie 9.0 and is seen sporting the a single clean home button that will allow users to navigate the new OS. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL could be the first two Google phones to solely adopt Android Pie's gesture navigation and ditch the traditional Android navigation completely.  You can read about what Android Pie has to offer, here.
