HIGHLIGHTS

OnePlus has partnered with Star Register to name the 37 stars. Each customer who receives the reward will also get a certificate of ownership.

OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition in India to mark the release of the latest Star Wars film, 'The Last Jedi'. The company has now announced that the first 37 customers of the Star Wars Edition smartphone will be acknowledged by OnePlus and it is doing so in a rather unique way. The first 37 customers of the phone will get an actual star named after them and receive a personalised Star Wars constellation, which will be presented along with a certificate of ownership. OnePlus has partnered with ‘Star Register’ for the same. Star Register is a star naming service which allows customers to name a visible constellation star at prices as low as 34.99$ (Rs. 2,250 approx.).

The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition features an all new colour scheme at the back, which the company calls “Sandstone White”. OnePlus says that the colour of the coating is inspired by the fictional planet of Crait, which is part of the Star Wars lore. Besides that, the phone's alert slider is dark red in colour which matches the colour of the Star Wars logo located at the back of the device. You also get custom Star Wars themes and wallpapers on the phone. Essentially, The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition, is essentially a OnePlus 5T smartphone with some gimmick thrown into the mix.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and comes only in an 8GB RAM variant featuring 128GB of on-board storage. The device features a 6.01-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and uses the same 16MP + 20MP camera setup as used on the original OnePlus 5T. The device packs a 3300mAh battery and supports the company’s proprietary Dash charging technology. The Star Wars Edition of the OnePlus 5T also comes with a Kylo Ren inspired case, which is included in the box itself.
