Apple’s new MacBook Pro launch date tipped, and it may be sooner than expected

Every tech enthusiast across the world would agree that Apple loves surprising its fans. And the fans too eagerly await these announcements. As we step into yet another week of 2026, speculations about the new MacBooks launching continue to grow. After launching the 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip in October last year, Apple is reportedly all set for its next wave of MacBooks. And it might be as soon as the end of this month. Now, it is to be noted that the Cupertino-based tech giant has not officially announced anything so this information has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Apple’s next MacBooks coming this month?

According to a recent report by Macworld, the company could launch the new MacBook Pro models on January 28. This is the same day that Apple’s newly announced Creator Suite goes live. The Creator Suite bundles professional-grade tools such as Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro and is clearly aimed at creators, developers, and power users.

This overlap has fuelled speculation that Apple may use the software launch as a springboard to introduce new hardware designed for the same audience. Historically, Apple has often paired major pro-focused software updates with hardware announcements, especially when targeting creative professionals. The January 28 date also falls on a Wednesday, a day Apple frequently chooses for product launches.

If the timing lines up, Apple is expected to announce refreshed MacBook Pro models in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These models are not expected to introduce major design changes but could focus on performance gains over the standard M5 variant, particularly for demanding workflows.

Apple already kicked off the M5 era with its 14-inch MacBook Pro

Apple had already set the tone for its next-generation laptops back in October 2025, when it quietly launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip. The announcement followed a teaser from Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and quickly grabbed attention across social media.

The M5-powered MacBook Pro was positioned as a major leap forward for AI on the Mac, with Apple claiming up to 3.5x faster AI performance and notable gains in graphics compared to the previous generation. The chip features a next-generation GPU, a faster CPU, and an upgraded Neural Engine, making it suitable not just for professionals but also for students, creators, and developers working with AI-driven tools.

The laptop also introduced up to 24 hours of battery life, fast charging support, and a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with peak HDR brightness of up to 1600 nits. Running on macOS Tahoe, it brought deeper Apple Intelligence integration, along with features like Live Translation and smarter automation. In India, prices for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 start at ₹1,69,900.
