Asus Zenfone 2 coming to India in last week of April

HIGHLIGHTS

Asus has officially announced that the much talked about Zenfone 2 will come to India in the last week of April.

Concrete reports of when the Asus Zenfone 2 will come to India are finally available. The company has announced that the Zenfone 2 will be coming to India in the last week of April, although a date hasn’t been provided yet. The device has been much talked about since it was first unveiled at the CES 2015 in Las Vegas, back in January this year.

That said, while Asus has confirmed that the Zenfone 2 will be coming to India at the above mentioned time, it hasn’t said if both the 4GB and 2GB RAM variants will be launched together. Earlier, in an interview with Peter Chang, Region Head for Asus, we had learned that the Zenfone 2 would be available in ‘different skews’. Recent reports though have claimed that the variant with 4GB RAM will indeed be available.

The Zenfone 2 was earlier said to be launching on April 13, but the company had rubbished those rumours. Now, Asus has given an official confirmation on the phone’s release date in India.

The Asus Zenfone 2 is the first smartphone to come with 4GB of RAM and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The phone will presumably take the vacant position of Asus’ flagship smartphone, joining the likes of the Zenfone C, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6.

Further, the Zenfone 2 runs on the 2.3 GHz Intel Z3580 SoC and has a 13MP rear and 5MP front camera. It also has a 5.5 inch 1080p display along with with 16/32/64GB internal storage options.

Asus has done well with its Zenfone line of smartphones, especially the Zenfone 5. We recently asked for your take on the company’s Zenfone 5 and got a very good response for the device. The Zenfone 2 should be an improvement on the Taiwanese company’s earlier devices, being much more powerful than all of them.
