Apple to start production of iPhone 6 in Q2 of 2014

A report from a Chinese daily suggests that Apple may be weeks away from starting the production of its next flagship phone, the iPhone 6.

According to a report in Commercial Times, a Chinese publication, Apple’s manufacturing partner Pegatron is about to open a new factory to build the new iPhone 6. The report also says that Pegatron has also started recruiting new workers for the production.

The Commercial Times also goes on to say that Pegatron isn’t the only manufacturer of Apple’s new smartphone. The company is said to have tied up with Foxconn which would be the primary manufacturer of the phone. Both the manufacturers, Pegatron and Foxconn are based in Taiwan.

Pegatron Corp is said to be recruiting workers in China to meet order to manufacture the new iPhone. Commercial Times published the report based on sources that it has denied to reveal.

The report has not specified the number of units that would be manufactured at the facility in Kunshan, on the outskirts of Shanghai. The paper doesn’t give any information on how many workers would be recruited or any dates related to the announcement and release of the iPhone 6.
