The device is expected to launch next year and both models are tipped to use OLED panels manufactured by Samsung

While rumours about the Apple iPhone 8 have been going on for many months, we may now have our first rumour about Apple’s flagship phones for next year. According to a report by The Investor (via The Bell), the devices (dubbed the iPhone 9) will be available in two sizes, but bigger than the current generation of iPhones. The standard model is tipped to come with a 5.28-inch display, while the larger model might sport a 6.46-inch panel. Both of these devices are tipped to use OLED panels manufactured by Samsung.

Apple’s switch to OLED panels and larger displays makes sense considering that the tenth anniversary iPhone (iPhone 8) is tipped to come with an OLED panel as well as a bezel-less design. These features would most likely be carried over to Apple’s smartphones for 2018. The bezel-less design will allow the company to add a bigger screen, while keeping the overall footprint of the devices more-or-less the same.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 8 alongside the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus in September this year. However, the availability of the device delayed by a few months. The new anniversary edition of the iPhone is tipped to sport 3D sensing cameras, improved waterproofing, and a stainless steel and glass body. The new device is expected to be priced at $1,000
