Alcatel 1 budget smartphone running on Android Go spotted online

Alcatel 1, the company’s latest smartphone with Android Oreo (Go Edition) was recently spotted on a website in Russia. This is the low-end variant of the Alcatel 1X which was launched alongside Alcatel 5 and Alcatel 3 at Mobile World Congress 2018. 

Alcatel 1 could be the company’s cheapest device. According to Russian website Helpix, it is said to feature an 5-inch (480×960 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and feature 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB storage. There’s a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie camera on the Alcatel 1. 

Further, the smartphone has a 2000mAh battery and LTE support along with dual SIM functionality. 

For its processing needs, the Alcatel 1 will house the Mediatek MT6739 SoC, a budget chipset launched back in January. The device will weight just 134g and will be available in 3 colours – Black, Blue and Gold.
