Sony VAIO M netbook promises to appease the budget conscious

Sony’s VAIO M is the official successor to VAIO W – its sibling which made its debut earlier this month. Sony VAIO M has replaced the dummy chiclet keys of VAIO W with a conventional keyboard styling and design. On features and specification, the Sony VAIO M bears a close resemblance to the Sony VAIO W, the only exception being a larger hard drive. The Sony VAIO M is shipping with a 250GB hard drive as against 160 GB shipped with the Sony VAIO W.

This time around, Sony has also made a commendable effort in reaching out to the masses with a more budget-friendly price tag of 300 pounds (slightly more than Rs 20,000 or $456) in the UK. We can expect it to retail in India for around Rs 25,000; the official price for the Indian market is still unknown. The Sony VAIO M weighing roughly 1.4kg, ships with the following features and specifications:

Sony VAIO M features and specs:
Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor
1GB of DDR2 memory
250GB hard drive
Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics
10.1-inch LED-backlit display
1024×600 native resolution
Memory card reader
WiFI b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity
Retail Price: 300 GBP / ~Rs 20,000 or $456

This model is presently available in two colors: Black and White. It is proposed for a commercial launch in the month of April across UK.
