Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch the new MacBook Air with its M4 chip, and it could happen as early as this week. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Apple’s MacBook Air inventory is running low and that the tech giant is planning a Mac-related announcement in the coming days.

“I expect the M4 MacBook Air to be introduced as early as this week. Inventory has significantly wound down and Apple is preparing a Mac-related announcement in the next few days. iPads are seeing shortages but are probably not launching until later,” Gurman wrote in his post.
The upcoming MacBook Air is expected to retain a design similar to last year’s model but with some changes. The biggest change will be the M4 processor. Additionally, Apple might offer 16GB of RAM as the base configuration, an upgrade from the previous models.
Another notable improvement could be the addition of a Thunderbolt 4 port, which would offer faster data transfer speeds and better connectivity compared to the current Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 options. Apple might also introduce Center Stage camera technology, making video calls more dynamic. There are also rumours that Apple will likely offer a nano-texture display as an optional upgrade. Previously, this feature was only available on high-end Macs
While these details are based on leaks and rumours, all eyes are now on Apple to see when it officially announces the M4 MacBook Air this week. Stay tuned for more updates.
