YouTube and DreamWorks Animation have launched the first YouTube Video show to find the best videos online.

YouTube Nation is a five minute-long daily show that will show the most popular YouTube daily videos, with brand-new, trending and yet-to-be-discovered content. The show will be hosted by Jacob Soboroff and will be aired daily at 9PM EST.

The YouTube Nation show is produced by DreamWorks Animation. The shows first episode highlights everything from a new football series from Grantland to a skydiving world record attempt. The episodes come with a playlist alongside the videos they highlight. The show is the first daily series to carry YouTube branding. Each episode will come equipped with links and playlists for the users to check out.

“For every five minutes of our show,” says DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, “we’ll have an hour or more of content. YouTube Nation is geared chiefly to 18-to-30-year-olds and “casual viewers who would like to be heavier users,” he adds.

It will serve as a handy sampler, says Jeffrey Katzenberg. “In a sea of the infinite, this is a lighthouse.”

Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s head of content and business operations, says, “We look at `YouTube Nation’ as a way to promote the great breadth of content on YouTube in an easily digestible way for anyone – and that’s the key word, `anyone.'”

People are making and sharing so many amazing things each day it blows our minds,” says YouTube’s Kevin Allocca in a blog post, “YouTube Nation is about sharing that feeling with all of you.”
