Another budget tablet in the Indian market! The Simmtronics XPAD X-801 is a budget ICS tablet with 1.2GHz processor, voice calling support and a 4,000 mAh battery.

After having launched the XPAD in the Indian market, Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd. has introduced a new Android tablet called the XPAD X-801. Priced at Rs. 8,499, the new Simmtronics tablet comes with voice calling support and GPRS connectivity.

The Simmtronics X-801 tablet features an 8-inch capacitive multi-touch display with 800×600 pixels resolution. The tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and is powered by 1.2GHz processor. The device has 512MB of DDR3 RAM.

Other key specifications of the tablet include 8GB built-in storage, expandable storage up to 32 GB via microSD card, and 2MP rear and 0.3MP front cameras. For connectivity, the device supports 2G calling, 3G via USB dongle, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

The Simmtronics X-801 has various preloaded apps such as Gmail, Play Store, YouTube, Skype, Gtalk, Latitude and Maps. The tablet comes with a 4000mAh battery.

“In our strategy to reach out to our audience with most innovative products, we are launching X-801 which features built-in voice calling and 2G connectivity support. This tablet PC enables you to make phone calls from your tablet and to surf internet with 2G speed via the SIM card. It also supports USB dongles to surf internet on a 3G speed,” says Indrajit Sabharwal, Managing Director, Simmtronics.
