HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung is expected to launch a new range of Galaxy tablets in 2013. The Galaxy Tab 3 Plus is rumoured to come with a high-resolution 10-inch display.

New details about a forthcoming Samsung tablet have emerged on the web. The tablet, dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus, is rumoured to have a high-resolution 10-inch display, similar to the Samsung-manufactured Nexus 10.

The details about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus come via a Bluetooth SIG filing, which hints at 4G connectivity and a model number ID GT-P8220, expected for the European market. The non-4G version has the GT-8200 model number. This filing also says the GT-P8220, the higher-end device in the Galaxy Tab 3 line-up, will have Bluetooth 4.0 and allow “users to connect wirelessly to optional, compatible hands-free accessories such as Bluetooth technology enabled headsets and car kits. The Bluetooth in this device supports HSP, A2DP, AVRCP, OPP, PAN, HID, HFP, PBAP, MAP etc.”

Th 10-inch display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus is said to have 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution. The tablet will run Android Jelly Bean with the latest TouchWiz version. There are contradictory reports about the processor though. While Android Community reports the tablet runs a dual-core 1.7GHz Exynos SoC processor, the Unwired report says it could be a quad-core processor.

Prior to the Mobile World Congress 2013, Samsung was rumoured to launch a slew of new tablets including the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus along with the Galaxy Note 8.0 at the event.

While the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus is said to be the next Samsung flagship tablet, rumours are the Korean giant will launch GT-P3200 (3G Galaxy Tab 3 7.0), GT-P3210 (Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab 3 7.0), GT-P5200 (3G Galaxy Tab 3 10.1), and GT-P5210 (Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab 3 10.1) devices.

Samsung is gearing up for a major event on March 14, however it is believed to be only for the Samsung Galaxy S IV. We can expect Samsung to announce the new tablets soon after though.
