After months of anticipation, OnePlus has finally launched a budget smartwatch in India called the OnePlus Nord Watch. Notably, it is the first smartwatch under the Nord brand and, overall, OnePlus’ second smartwatch to hit the market. Surprisingly, the company did not reveal the official launch date until it actually revealed the device online. The OnePlus Nord Watch will compete with other smartwatches from companies like Realme, Noise, Xiaomi and more.
The OnePlus Nord Watch comes with a 1.78-inch rectangular AMOLED display in a zinc alloy chassis. The display has a resolution of 326x448 pixels per inch and supports a refresh rate of 60Hz. With a 70.7% screen-to-body ratio, the smartwatch has thin bezels. Since the display can achieve a peak brightness of 500 nits, it should be legible outdoors. Along with a metal casing, the smartwatch comes with silicone straps and a stainless steel buckle.
OnePlus equips the Nord Watch with a 3-axis accelerometer, an optical heart rate sensor, and a blood oxygen sensor. With these, the wearable can easily record steps, the calories burnt and the distance covered. Further, it supports automatic running and walking tracking and features 105 sports modes for measuring vitals during activities like yoga, running, or sports like cricket, football and more. Other features include one-tap measurement that compiles multiple statistics.
The OnePlus Nord Watch also has an official IP68 rating, which means that it can be submerged in up to 1.5m for 30 minutes and is also resistant to dust. However, the company advises users to avoid using the watch “during strenuous exercise or while in extremely humid environments.” Last but not least, the OnePlus Nord Watch connects with your smartphone via Bluetooth v5.2. Users can download and install the N Health app to manage the watch and features such as incoming calls and message notifications.
All of these features are powered by 10-days of advertised battery life (230 mAh battery)
The OnePlus Nord Watch is available in two colors, Midnight Black and Deep Blue. Both variants are available to purchase on the company’s official website for Rs. 4,999, which seems to be the introductory price as the MRP of the product is Rs. 6,999. Interested customers can also avail of an instant discount of Rs. 500 using Axis Bank credit/debit cards.
