New clothing line to end your smartphone addiction launched in Japan

Focus: Life Gear Fashion could snuff out your smartphone addiction by blocking all types of mobile connectivity.

A Japanese designer Kunihiko Morinaga has launched a new line of clothes called Focus: Life Gear by Trident, that blocks radio waves from reaching your smartphone.

The clothing range includes dresses, shirts, skirts, jackets and pants made out of material that will block radio signals from your phone. If you keep your smartphone in the pockets of your pants, it will be as good as having your smartphone turned off. The signals will bounce of the clothes making your smartphone useless.

Although these new range of clothes are definitely not the most fashionable things you will wear, but may be still worth exploring if you want to wean off your smartphone. And you never know if launched in a, more “normal” design, they might actually take off in a big way. The new range of clothes debuted at the Toronto Fashion week and are not available in stores yet.

Fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga stated, “Often [our phones] distract us from the things we really want to focus on like pursuing our goals, enjoying a moment with friends, appreciating the world around us.” That’s the idea behind FOCUS a line of men’s and woman’s fashion designed by Morinanga that protects us from “the storm of information.”

If you are addicted to your smartphone and want to let go of your habit, these new range of clothes may be just what you need. What do you think? Are these clothes just what you are looking for?
