The moon will eventually acquire the deep red glow of a blood moon as it moves into Earth’s umbra. This is due to sunlight piercing Earth’s atmosphere, which is also what causes fiery sunsets. This eclipse is slightly larger than usual because it occurs at the moon’s perigee, or closest point to Earth, adding to the spectacle.
Lunar Eclipse 2025: How to watch it
It’s usually safe to watch a lunar eclipse with your unaided eyes. You might not require safety glasses. However, using binoculars or a telescope is advised if you wish to view the enhanced view. However, everyone will be able to see the reddish glow beneath the black sky even without the equipment.
