ChatGPT gets Google Drive support, reservation search and other new features: Here is what is new

ChatGPT is getting several new features that aim to make the AI assistant more useful for everyday tasks. OpenAI has started rolling out new tools, including reservation search, Google Drive support for paid users and more. ChatGPT Consumer Product Lead Adam Fry announced the latest updates in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

One of the new features lets users ask ChatGPT to quiz them on almost any topic. Users can simply type a request such as “Quiz me on history” and ChatGPT will generate a quiz inside the chat. The feature is likely to be useful for students and anyone who wants to test their knowledge while learning a new subject.

ChatGPT is also getting a reservation search feature. Users do not need to provide very specific details. They can describe what they want in normal language. For example, a user can ask ChatGPT to find a table for two next Saturday at a restaurant with a good outdoor patio.

Paid ChatGPT users can now add files from Google Drive to their ChatGPT Library. This will make it easier to ask questions about documents and other files stored in Drive. Users can access the option through the + menu and select “Add from Library”. They can then use their files while chatting with ChatGPT.

OpenAI is also adding better suggestions for paid users. These suggestions will appear on the ChatGPT home page.

Meanwhile, OpenAI appears to be preparing to expand ChatGPT advertising to India. Some users have received an email explaining upcoming changes to the privacy policy.

According to the update, ads are expected to appear on the Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education users are not expected to see ads. OpenAI says in the email that advertisements will be clearly marked as sponsored content.

OpenAI has not officially announced when ChatGPT ads will launch in India. The email sent to some Indian users suggests that the company is preparing for a wider rollout, but it is still unclear when advertisements will start appearing on the platform.
