Specifications and features
The Essential series is powered by LG’s Smart Inverter Compressor, which adjusts the AC’s speed based on room temperature and cooling demand. In practical terms, this means faster initial cooling, lower power consumption over time and reduced noise levels.
This is coupled with Variable Tonnage Technology, which lets the AC ramp up cooling when first switched on and then slow down once the set temperature is reached. This could help maintain consistent comfort while managing electricity usage.

LG offers a 10-year warranty on the inverter compressor, an important assurance for long-term buyers.
Furthermore, the AC features Convertible 6-in-1 modes, allowing users to adjust cooling capacity depending on room size, occupancy and weather conditions. This includes:
- Diet mode can reduce power consumption by up to 78 percent compared to rated power, according to LG. This is useful for overnight use or milder weather.
- Active Energy Control provides four power management levels.
- VIRAAT mode boosts cooling capacity by up to 109 percent under specific test conditions and can cool at temperatures as low as 18 degrees Celsius. This is aimed at peak summer conditions in north and central India.
- Smart Care mode automatically adjusts temperature and airflow based on usage patterns and indoor conditions.
For buyers, this flexibility means the AC can adapt to different use cases rather than running at full capacity all the time, which may help manage electricity bills.
The Essential series is equipped with Gold Fin+ anti-corrosion coating with double protection, tested for 5,000 hours of salt spray exposure, with TÜV verification citing minimal corrosion. This could matter for coastal regions and areas with high humidity.
It also uses 100 percent copper tubes, which improve heat transfer and corrosion resistance compared to aluminium alternatives.
The AC supports stabiliser-free operation across a wide voltage range of 140V to 295V. In areas with frequent voltage fluctuations, this reduces the need for an external stabiliser, lowering installation costs and clutter.
The biggest update is compliance with the new 2026 BEE norms. With tighter energy efficiency standards coming into force, many older models are being phased out or re-rated. LG’s Essential series is built to meet these updated requirements from launch, which may help buyers avoid confusion over star ratings in the coming months.
