Kobo launches Android tablet and e-book readers in India, starting from Rs. 7,999

Kobo forays in Indian market, launches three e-book readers and one Android tablet.

Kobo has launched Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, Kobo Touch e-readers and the Kobo Arc Android tablet in Indiat. The devices are available through Crossword, Croma and WHSmith retail stores.

The Kobo Aura HD has a 6.8-inch Pearl E-Ink WXGA touchscreen. The company claims it has a battery life up to 2 months. The Aura HD features a front-lit e-reader technology. It comes with 4GB inbuilt memory expandable up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. The e-reader is priced at Rs 13,999.

The Kobo Touch e-reader has a 6-inch anti-glare Pearl E-Ink touchscreen. It has 2GB internal memory and is expandable up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. The company claims that the e-readers battery life can last up to one month. The Touch e-reader is priced at Rs 7,999 but is available at a discounted price of Rs 6,999 till November 3 as a festive offer.

The Kobo Glo e-reader has a 6-inch Pearl E-Ink touchscreen and supports adjustable Comfort Light technology that lets you read even in low light conditions. The e-reader comes with 2GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via a micro SD card. The Glo e-reader is priced at Rs 10,999 and also promises a 1 month battery life.

Kobo has also launched the Arc tablet in Indian at Rs 11,999. The tablet runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM. It has a 7 inch IPS LCD display optimised for 178 degree viewing angles and comes with an ultra durable glass to protect it from scratches. It has 16GB storage expandable via microSD. The tablet comes with 1.3MP front camera for video chatting. It has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity and gives up to 10 hours of continuous reading and over two weeks of standby time according to company claims. The tablet is available at a festive price of Rs 9,999 till 3rd Nov.
