How the free AC Yojana scam works

While the government has not officially explained how this free AC Yojana scam works. Such scams usually ask the users to download an APK file from a link. Once you download and install the app, hackers get access to your device and personal information.
If not that, then sometimes the scammers may demand a small payment to make a booking or deliver the air conditioner that is offered. The money is claimed to be refundable, and it is supposed to cover the costs of the registration or the delivery of the item.
Another method involves asking users to fill up forms and provide personal information such as banking details, card details, Aadhaar number, and other sensitive information.
