OpenAI’s popular chatbot, ChatGPT, is experiencing massive global outages once again. Users from around the world are reporting issues accessing the chatbot, with many turning to social media to express their frustration. They are unable to access ChatGPT for day-to-day tasks, with the shared prompt consistently throwing an error.
SurveyAccording to the website tracking platform, Downdetector, a significant number of outage reports have been filed from India and many other countries. The outage peaked at around 12:55 PM IST, with over 750 reports in India and more than 190 in the United States. ChatGPT received more than 80% of the complaints, raising concerns about OpenAI’s ability to handle the growing demand. This is followed by the website (13%) and the application (7%).
Notably, ChatGPT has been attracting a massive user base on a daily basis since its launch. While the reason for the outage remains unknown, it could be the overwhelming number of prompts that the AI chatbot has been receiving.
OpenAI has yet to acknowledge the outage and release any statement on the same. The restoration of the ChatGPT services remains unknown.
