Rockstar urges employees to return to office as GTA 6 nears final stage
HIGHLIGHTS

The GTA 6 trailer broke three records in just 24 hours.

Rockstar has asked its employees to work from the office from April.

The company made this decision because of productivity and security concerns.

Rockstar’s GTA 5 was a big hit. If we talk in numbers, the game made almost $8 billion in 10 years. Now, its successor, the GTA 6 has set a lot of expectations all over the globe. Rockstar dropped the first trailer of its next GTA game two months ago. The trailer broke three records in just 24 hours; the most-viewed video game reveal on YouTube in 24 hours, the most-liked video game trailer on YouTube to date, and the most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours (non-music).

In the latest development, we hear that Rockstar is pacing up for GTA 6’s development. A new report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg states that the company has asked its employees to work from the office from April. Before this, Rockstar used to provide remote work but now its employees have to work from the office 5 days a week. This decision has been made because the game is finally entering the final stage of development. Rockstar Head of Publishing Jenn Kolbe said to Bloomberg that they are doing this because of productivity and security concerns. The company clearly doesn’t want another GTA 6 gameplay to be leaked.

Moreover, Rockstar Games had previously faced major data breaches, including GTA 5 source code leaks. In December, the anticipated GTA 6 trailer was leaked prematurely, prompting an early official release.

Kolbe mentioned in the email that working from the office has clear benefits. He said this will give the best quality for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game. This choice matches the game’s ambitious plan.
