Rockstar Games, the video game publisher behind the iconic open-world franchise, officially announced last week that the release of GTA 6 has been postponed once again. Fans who were counting down to the May 2026 launch will now have to hold on a few more months. The company explained that the delay is necessary to give them more time to polish the game and ensure it meets the high expectations set by both the studio and the gaming community. Despite the setback, excitement around GTA 6 remains sky-high.

GTA 6 new release date
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will now launch on November 19, 2026, instead of the earlier planned date of May 26, 2026. The game will debut first on consoles, with the PC version expected to follow later.

So far, two official trailers for GTA 6 have been released, both receiving massive attention online for their impressive visuals, gameplay and story hints. There are rumours that trailer 3 might be released next month.

GTA 6 will center on two lead characters, Jason and Lucia. According to Rockstar, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

GTA 6 characters, map and setting
Alongside the main duo, the game will introduce new characters, including Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez. The story will bring players back to Vice City, one of the most popular locations in the series. Rockstar describes GTA 6 as “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”
GTA 6 India pricing and PC requirements
In India, the standard edition of GTA 6 is expected to be priced at around Rs 5,999, while special editions could cost Rs 7,299 or more. Leaks suggest that players will need at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon RX 5700 XT, 8GB of RAM, and 150GB of storage space.
