Apple MacBook Neo is here and it costs less than an iPhone: India price and all details
For months, rumours of Apple planning to launch an entry-level MacBook have been doing rounds online. And just a couple of hours ago, the news of MacBook Neo’s existence was leaked. Now, Apple’s Holi gift to its Indian fans is officially here and it comes in some exciting colour options. The MacBook Neo, with the starting price of Rs 69,900, costs less than an iPhone 17 and just Rs 5,000 more than the iPhone 17e.

Built from the ground up to be more affordable for even more people, MacBook Neo is a laptop only Apple could create. It features a durable aluminum design in four beautiful colors; a brilliant Liquid Retina display; Apple silicon-powered performance; all-day battery life; a high-quality camera, mics, and speakers; a Magic Keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad; and the intuitive and powerful features of macOS. There is simply no other laptop like it.’

Apple MacBook Neo launched: India price and availability
The MacBook Neo is available in four colour options – blush, indigo, silver and citrus. There are two storage variants – 256GB and 512GB. The 256GB variant costs Rs 69,900 while the 512 GB variant costs Rs 79,900.
As for availability, the new MacBook is already available for pre-ordering through Apple’s website in India. If you pre-order the device now, it can reach you by March 11.
Top specifications and features
The MacBook Neo comes with a 13 inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 by 1506. The panel supports one billion colours and reaches up to 500 nits of brightness. Apple has also included an anti reflective coating that improves visibility when using the laptop in bright environments.
For a long time it was being said that the low-cost MacBook will run on an iPhone chip. And the rumour was indeed true as the MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro chip. Apple claims that the processor delivers up to 50% faster performance for everyday tasks such as browsing, streaming content and working on documents when compared with bestselling PCs powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 processors. The chip also includes a 16 core Neural Engine designed to accelerate AI tasks on the device.
Further, the laptop features an integrated five core GPU to handle graphics. It is also fanless, which means the device is expected to be silent and not noisy. Apple has also equipped the MacBook Neo with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones with directional beamforming and dual side firing speakers that support Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
As for the battery, Apple claims the laptop can last up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge. The MacBook Neo includes the Magic Keyboard and a large Multi Touch trackpad for navigation. In terms of connectivity options, there are two USB C ports, a headphone jack, Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6. The laptop runs macOS Tahoe and also supports Apple Intelligence features.
