New Prince of Persia game announced
Ubisoft in a press release revealed that their Montreal studio is working on the next Prince of Persia game. This game will be called Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and has series creator Jordan Mechner working with the development team. As the name suggests, the game will be a continuation of the “Sands of Time” storyline in favor of last year’s rebooted Prince of Persia setting. This could be attributed to the fact that Disney’s Prince of Persia movie is also based on Sand of Time saga and both are scheduled to release side-by-side in May 2010. So if we attempt to put this in perspective— the new Prince of Persia game will be based on a movie, which is based on a game. Whatever the reason maybe for this switch, many would be glad to hear that Ubisoft has chucked the idea of continuing with the last Prince of Persia game; which in my opinion was the prettiest looking piece of turd in recent history.
You can watch the trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer’s upcoming Prince of Persia movie; whereas the trailer for the game is expected to premiere on Spike TV’s Video Game Awards show on December 12.
