Capcom has announced that their sandbox-style zombie killer is slated for release in early September. The game’s release will be preceded by an Xbox exclusive DLC called Dead Rising: Zero, which will tie in the events between the first game and the sequel. There is no word on whether this DLC will be a free promotional item or premium content. The events taking place in Dead Rising: Zero will not be featured in Dead Rising 2.
Following this announcement, Capcom also released a new game-play trailer which shows off some of the game’s new features like customized weapons. In Dead Rising 2, player will be able to combine two or more items to create new weapons. Weapon designs are unlocked by collecting combo cards and are assembled by using a workbench in the game’s stockrooms.
