The multiplayer component of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins will not be coming to Nintendo's home console.

WB Interactive has officially confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins multiplayer will not be available on Nintendo’s Wii U, according to a press release.

The latest instalment in the flagship Batman series will only be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. “The team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest multiplayer audience,” says a WB Interactive spokesperson.

Multiplayer online mode called Invisible Predator Online would allow players to choose between the hero, Bane’s elite thugs and Joker’s elite thugs factions.

Confusion currently prevails after the press release, claiming “the online mode will be available for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC” thus nothing about the Wii U was mentioned.

So, it’s still unclear whether Nintendo’s Wii U will be getting the multiplayer component or not. This would eventually be a further blow to Nintendo, as they will be missing out on a key feature that would be available on other platforms, bearing in mind the console’s low sales figure that was announced recently.

Batman: Arkham Origins is slated for an October 25 release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Windows PC.
