HIGHLIGHTS

The Apex Legends Iron Crown event adds a new currency called Crowns.

It can be earned through weekly challenges.

Apex Legends fans have two weeks to take part in new challenges as the Iron Collection Crown event, along with a temporary solo mode has gone live. This trial is set to end on August 27. Additionally, Respawn is bringing some more excitement to the game by introducing a limited-time battle royale mode called Solos. The event introduces a host of other elements such as a special Iron Crown Collection Pack, Octane Town Takeover, a new currency called Crowns that can be spent at the Iron Crown Event Store, and exclusive new challenges.

The Iron Collection Crown event is now live on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The Solo mode will pit 60 players against each other. It is a Limited Time Mode. There is also a battle royale mode that appears to be an experimental feature, which may or may not return in the future. It’s permanence will depend on the reception and feedback from players. However, things are looking positive as of now.

The Kings Canyon area has received a makeover as part of the Iron Crown Collection Event. Moreover, the changes will be present even after the ongoing event ends. The new Apex Legends event has also introduced a special Iron Crown Collection Pack that gives players a chance to win 24 theme items. Half of these items are Legendary items while the rest are Epic items.

Furthermore, a new currency, called Crowns has also been introduced. The new currency can be earned by completing weekly challenges. Additionally, all victories and top 5 match finishes will be rewarded with double XP until August 19.

“We are always striving to ensure healthy matchmaking across all modes, so it's too early to say whether Solos will be permanent or not, but we're going to watch and see what happens. As always, we want to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think”, Lee Horn, Director of Product Management for Apex Legends wrote in a blog post.
