Sony is offering an extra five days of PlayStation Plus service to subscribers after the PlayStation Network (PSN) faced a major outage that lasted almost a full day. Many players were unable to access their games or connect with friends online due to the disruption.

Thousands of PlayStation users reported difficulties loading digital games and using online features. This left many frustrated as they were unable to play popular titles such as Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto.
Following the widespread outage, Sony confirmed that all PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive five extra days on their subscription. The announcement was made through the official Ask PlayStation account on X (formerly Twitter).
“Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue,” Sony stated in the post. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service.”

As expected, the gaming community took to social media to express their frustration. Many PlayStation owners shared memes, opinions, and videos highlighting the impact of the outage.
Some users were particularly upset about Sony’s lack of updates while the issue was ongoing. “Sony’s PlayStation Network has been down for ~15 hours now. Sony hasn’t provided an update on the major outage for 12 hours,” one X user wrote.

Despite the frustration, the five-day extension is a small gesture of goodwill from Sony. While it may not fully make up for the downtime, it does acknowledge the inconvenience caused to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Since Sony has restored full functionality to the PlayStation Network, gamers can enjoy their favourite titles without interruption.
