The Bluff: Storyline
The Bluff is based on the life of pirate Ercell ‘Bloody Mary’ Bodden, who lived in the 19th century in the Caribbean. After her violent life at sea as a pirate comes to an end, Ercell settles down in the Cayman Islands with her loved ones. Ercell thinks that her dark pirate life is behind her. Peace doesn’t last for long in her life when her captain from the pirate life, Connor, portrayed by Karl Urban, arrives in search of Ercell for some form of retribution.
Ercell is left with no other alternative but to call on the skills she had long forgotten from her pirate life in order to protect her loved ones from danger. The struggle is about survival in this story, as Ercell has to fight for her past and her future.
