Now Shazam your music all the way into your Instagram Stories: Here’s how
Apple-owned Shazam has announced an integration with Instagram, allowing users to share songs discovered on Shazam to their Instagram Stories.
The Shazam app for iOS just received an update in the form of version 12.3, bringing with it a new Instagram integration. The Apple-owned music discovery service will now let users share the music they discover on the app to their Instagram Stories.
To share songs from Shazam on your Instagram stories, all you need to do is Shazam a track that’s playing around you, hit the share button and tap the ‘Instagram Stories’ option. The song will then appear on your Instagram story for 24 hours. Those who view your story with the shared track from Shazam will be able to see the song and its cover art with a button that says “More on Shazam”. This button can be tapped to reveal more details about the song on the Shazam app.
Currently, the feature is only available through updated versions of Instagram and Shazam on iOS. The Android versions of the apps are also expected to be updated with the new feature soon.
Apple recently has completed its acquisition of Shazam, making the app ad free for all users. Apple had been negotiating the purchase of Shazam since last year and finally managed to close it at a reported sum of $400 million.
