According to Downdetector, reports of the outage in India started surfacing around 8:00 AM. Soon after, frustrated users turned to X (formerly Twitter) to share their experiences. One user shared, ‘Everybody running to Twitter to see if Instagram DMs are down’, while another posted, ‘Instagram dms down the one time I want to send an important dm like free me.’
So far, Meta has not issued any official statement related to the outage. For now, users experiencing issues with Instagram will have to wait until Meta identifies the problem and brings the platform back online.
Instagram is one of the world’s most widely used social media platforms, where millions of people share photos, videos, and stories every day. Over the years, it has become an important part of daily life for many users. While the exact cause of the current outage is currently unknown, the large number of complaints shows just how dependent many users have become on the platform for updates, entertainment, and communication.
