HIGHLIGHTS

The Nokia X6 user guide appeared on the official India website, hinting that the launch of the phone in the country is imminent. The link to the Nokia X6 User Guide now redirects to the Chinese website, but searching for the guide on Google still shows the Indian URL.

It seems like the Nokia X6 is headed to India after all. The official user guide for the smartphone briefly popped up on the company’s Indian website. However, since then, the page now redirects to the Chinese website. Searching for ‘Nokia X6 user guide’ on Google still shows the link to the Indian website, which can be made out by the ‘en_in’ part of the URL. Media reports also suggest that the device was certified by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) which stated, “Your mobile device is also designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by the India Department of Telecommunications. These requirements set a SAR limit of 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue.” However, it’s still not known when HMD Global plans to launch the smartphone in India and at what price

To recall, the Nokia X6 was launched in China last month and is the first smartphone by the company to feature a notch on the display. The smartphone sports a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display and is powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. The phone features a 3060mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0. At the back of the Nokia X6 is a dual-rear camera setup with a f/2.0 aperture lens. At the front is a single 16MP unit. Like almost every single smartphone manufacture out there right now, Nokia is touting AI features on the X6 as well. The company says that the Nokia X6 is able to detect the scene being captured and automatically optimise the settings in order to improve the image quality. The AI is also said to help take Portrait Mode selfies.

In China, the phone is available in three variants. The 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,299 (approx Rs 13,500), while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 15,600). The top-end version of the smartphone offers 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and is priced at CNY 1,699 (approx Rs 17,700).
