The Nokia 8.1 comes in one model with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and will go on sale from December 21 via the Nokia online shop and Amazon.in.

As expected, HMD Global has launched its new Nokia 8.1 smartphone today at an event, in India. While we already know everything there is to know about the phone, the company today announced its India pricing and availability in the country. Highlights of the phone include an HDR 10 supporting PureView display that is said to deliver a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The device also sports a dual rear camera assembly, which is equipped with Zeiss optics. The Nokia 8.1 comes in one configuration of 4GB RAM, coupled with 64GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 26,999. It will be available from the company’s own online shop and via Amazon.in from December 21 and is now up for pre-bookings. Launch offers on the phone include a 1TB data for Airtel postpaid customers and 120GB for the telcos prepaid users. There's also a six-month free screen replacement option with Servify, along with a 10 percent cashback for those who buy the phone using HDFC credit or debit card customers.

Nokia 8.1 Specifications

The Nokia 8.1 is also said to be constructed out of a single block of Series 6000 aluminium block, with dual-tone diamond cut edges. The smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and is the second device to be launched on the chipset. As mentioned earlier, the phone sports 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage, and is backed by a 3500 mAh battery. Nokia promises a two-day battery backup on the phone, along with 18W quick charging. 

Talking about the display, the Nokia 8.1 features a 6.18-inch full-HD+ screen with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Along with HDR 10 support, the phone supports a resolution of 1080×2244 pixels. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back panel and the handset is an Android One device that runs on stock Android 9 Pie. 

For the camera setup, the Nokia 8.1 features Zeiss optics, supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), along with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). It features a 12MP primary camera with 1.4-micron pixels, 1/2.55-inch sensor, paired with a 13MP depth-sensing camera. The phone’s primary camera supports Dual PDAF and can capture 4K videos at 30 frames per second. On the front, the device has a 20MP sensor, which is optimised for capturing better low-light images.
