Lava Iris X8: specs, comparisons, synthetic benchmarks and more [Promotion]

The Lava Iris X8 is Lava's take on what a budget segment smartphone should be. The smartphone features decent specs but more importantly a very affordable price tag of Rs. 9,000. At this price, Lava Iris X8 offers a great mix of features like an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.

This makes the Lava Iris X8 a very recommendable option among its rivals. The phone offers a good balance between looks and performance. The hardware gives us a bigger picture into how the Lava Iris X8 is a performance centric smartphone. The octa-core MediaTek processor is a hard working beast. The phone almost never slows down or lags. FHD video playback and games are handled with ease and without any issues.

We also did some synthetic benchmarks to get a better perspective on how the phone performs in extreme test conditions. However synthetic benchmarks are not a completely accurate measure of how a smartphone performs in real life scenarios.

Antutu
Antutu is an all in one benchmark which tests the CPU, GPU, RAM, I/O, and UX of the phone. As you can see below, the Lava Iris X8 scores 28,170 points, which is a good score for a budget smartphone.

GFX Bench
GFX is a widely used cross-platform benchmark used to test the graphical abilities of the device. In the GFX benchmark scores below, we can see that although the Iris X8 scores below flagship phones, the margin is not that wide.

Geekbench
Geekbench is another popular cross-platform benchmark which is widely used to get an idea of single core and multicore performance separately. As suggested by the Geekbench scores of the Lava Iris X8 below, it’s clear that the phone is a capable performer and offers better performance than other smartphones in its range.

We also did the Geekbench battery test to get a rough idea of how the phone performs. As you can see the smartphone posts a respectable score of 5 hours. This roughly translates into 8-10 hours of daily use. Hence the phone can easily last a day of use on a single charge.
